Sharjah: Police in Sharjah announced on Thursday that the speed limit on Maliha Road has now been raised.
The road, which is located in the central region of Sharjah, had its speed limit increased after the Sharjah Police General Directorate studied a proposal recommended by the Traffic Committee.

Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Alai Al Naqbi, Director of Traffic and Patrol Department at Sharjah Police said, the speed limit has changed from 100km/h to 120km/h as a result of significant road works carried out by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Sharjah, to improve traffic flow in the area.
And due to the grace window for speed limits in the UAE, the radar will now flash motorists who drive above 140km/h instead of the previous 121km/h.
The traffic and patrol department said these measures have been taken to improve traffic safety in the emirate.
The Sharjah Police General Directorate urged motorists to be vigilant and avoid radar violations, and to ensure the safety of other motorists.
