The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a sandstorm warning across the UAE as strong winds reach speeds of up to 55km/hour are expected to kick up dust and sand across the city.
Blowing sand may reduce visibility to less than 2km at times the NCM warned, with all parts of the UAE except the Easternmost areas affected.
The warning is in place all day, from 8am on Monday March 25 until 6pm.
In a further Tweet, the NCM advised that there may be scattered rainfall across the UAE throughout the day, which may become thundery at times.
Temperatures are significantly higher than they have been in recent weeks, with highs of 34 degrees in Abu Dhabi and 32 degrees in Dubai.
