The rink at The Dubai Mall is bringing out the Zamboni in time for a thrilling ten-day hockey tournament starting 17 February. The Emirates Hockey League (EHL) is the UAE’s national ice hockey coalition, which was founded in 2009. Governed by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), this league comprises of five teams: Viper/WB, the Abu Dhabi Scorpions and the Dubai Mighty Camels (made up of expats) along with the Abu Dhabi Storms and the Al Ain Theebs (made up of Emirati players). Residents and tourists alike are invited to see these diverse teams, which embody the region’s multicultural social fabric, go head-to-head in a battle for the victor’s title.
