Kaftan La Mer is treating little ones to a cool summer surprise. For every order from the kids’ menu, they get a complimentary scoop of vanilla, strawberry or chocolate ice cream.
Short, but definitely very sweet, the Turkish restaurant’s colour-in menu for kiddies under ten includes burgers, breaded chicken fingers and döner sandwiches with chips, and a cheese pasta.
If you’re a fan of Asian food, you can also check out Thai eatery Fuschia Urban Thai’s new menu, which is suited to kiddie taste buds. The 11 dishes included, while still authentic, are not spicy, and prepared in a way to ensure nutritional value. They’re also portioned for little tummies.
The Thai Tots menu gives parents and kids the option to choose from a variety of favourites, with carefully chopped ingredients – and they’re only served after they’ve cooled down to avoid any scorching. They also incorporate hidden, good-for-you elements that would still appeal to picky eaters.
The new tots menu includes Little Chicken Panko, a buttermilk-soaked chicken recipe that kids can eat as a pressed burger in a soft chewy Hawaiian bun or have cut into hand-held slices. There’s also the tofu stir-fry, where bite-size squares of the healthy East Asian soy steak are lightly coated with rice flour and pan sautéed with broccoli (that’s baby broccoli) and sliced carrots, then drizzled with a sweet gingery finish.
Prices vary. Until Sep. La Mer, Jumeirah 1 (04 344 6288).
