Dubai: Motorists can now use their Nol cards to pay their transport-related fees and fines at the Roads and Transport Authority’s (RTA) customer happiness centres.
The facility is available to all Nol card holders provided they have enough balance in their card’s e-wallet.
Part of RTA’s efforts to broaden the use of Nol cards or the unified payment system, the service will be available at five customers’ happiness centres affiliated to the RTA including Umm Al Ramool, Al Kifaf, Al Barsha, Al Tawar and Al Manara.
Abdullah Al Madani, CEO of RTA’s Corporate Technology Support Services Sector, said, “The service has been launched recently in five customers happiness centres of the RTA, where Nol card users would be able to pay service fees as well as the applicable fines.
“This initiative is an important step towards realising RTA’s objectives of bringing happiness to Nol card users in Dubai through enabling the diversified use of the card.”
He added that the move fits well with the Smart City initiative aimed at ranking Dubai as the smartest city in the world through providing sophisticated applications that make it easy for people to benefit from the diverse services they use on a daily basis.
“This initiative adds to RTA’s endeavours to make Dubai the smartest city in the world within three years through benefiting from the advanced techniques to realise this objective.
“The initiative combines excellence and innovation; which are key drivers of realising the vision of the Smart City,” Al Madani added.
Nol card, which was initially launched as a unified payment system for the Metro, buses and other public transport modes in Dubai, can now be used to pay for parking, entry fees at parks and the Union Museum as well as making payment at Enoc and Eppco petrol stations.
Nol is also available as a payment mode at a number of retails stores across the city.
