If your eyes are tricking your brain, you must be at the Museum of Illusions, the newest venue on the ever-growing list of museums and family-friendly attractions in Dubai. Described as a visual, sensual and educational journey, the venue is opening at the city’s creekside Al Seef development. Museum of Illusions Dubai will boast the largest collection of optical illusions in the museum’s worldwide portfolio. Housing 80 exhibits of all shapes and sizes, the museum promises to tantalise visitors in a unique visual and sensory experience – and provide heaps of fun, of course. Unlike other museums, you are encouraged to interact with the exhibits, and take as many photos as you like.
A flagship attraction at the newly-redeveloped Al Seef heritage and cultural development on Dubai Creek, the full line-up of exhibits at Museum of Illusions Dubai is a closely-guarded secret until its formal opening on 12 September. But for a small taster, exhibits include the Vortex Tunnel, a rotating cylinder that tricks the brain into thinking the ground underfoot is shifting, as well as the Ames Room, where guests shrink or grow depending on their position in the exhibit.
